The black ceramics is the finest type of ceramics, mean many ceramics enthusiasts. For their manufacture is used red clay which is much purer than the raw material for porcelain. The ceramics is produced by the traditional method because, unlike porcelain, no modern methods can be used. Because for the color formation of black ceramicare required smoke and charcoal granules, which can only result from the burning of wood. To burn black ceramic have been and are used the most primitive earth ovens, in the open air.
The unique design has its origins in the ancient Baltic Area. The representation of the human face to the pear-shaped urns were so characteristic that it became a feature of a culture of residents of the area between the Gulf of Gdansk to the Klaipeda - the face-urns culture.
You will never find the same face-urn. The facial features, ornaments and symbols are made individually by hand.
Our logo convey symbolic the most important elements of baltic mythology and represent: the name Ausrine, the earth with a thick line, the water with several thin coats, the bird and the moon.
